We understand that if you are a parent or caretaker of a child on the ketogenic diet the \u201cto do\u201d list prior to school starting is probably a mile long and overwhelming. \u00a0Not only do you need to get all the traditional school supplies, but it\u2019s also time to educate the school staff about ketogenic therapy.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the Epilepsy organizations have information about preparing for back to school.\u00a0 The Epilepsy Foundation has a great page discussing seizure response plans and epilepsy in the classroom (click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epilepsy.com\/article\/2014\/8\/what-can-parents-do-prepare-school\">here<\/a>). They even offer an on-line training program for school nurses to learn how to manage student with seizures (click <a href=\"http:\/\/learn.epilepsy.com\/\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If your child has a specific epilepsy syndrome, check on the foundation web sites for some additional information to provide teachers or nurses.\u00a0 For example, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.g1dfoundation.org\/\">Glut 1 Foundation<\/a> has a printable brochure families can provide to the school (find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.g1dfoundation.org\/what-is-glut1-deficiency\/brochures\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charliefoundation.org\/\">The Charlie Foundation<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthewsfriends.org\/\">Matthews Friends<\/a> sites are always great resources for all things keto related.
